It is the Policy of Crouch Harbour Authority, as invested in them by the Crouch Harbour Act 1974, to administer and control the harbour formed by the rivers Crouch and Roach and adjacent waters in the County of Essex as defined in the Act on a safe, fair, reasonable and commercial basis. In pursuit of this aim they will operate the harbour, its equipment and its environs in accordance with national statutes and local regulations to provide a safe and quality service to its users at a reasonable charge.
Crouch Harbour Authority will manage, protect, preserve, regulate, maintain and improve the harbour and the navigation thereof. Crouch Harbour Authority and employees will work with local authorities, commercial interests and stakeholders in accordance with the duties and objectives set out in the Crouch Harbour Authority’s Harbour Management Plan (January 1996) to enhance the natural beauty and amenity of the countryside and encourage the provision and improvement of facilities for the enjoyment of the countryside and of open-air recreation.
