Dated 27 September 2007:

BRIDGEMARSH ISLAND - OUT OF BOUNDS FOR ALL CRAFT

Please take notice that the creeks and lagoons within Bridgemarsh Island are private and should not be entered by vessels of any kind.

In particular water skiing or the use of Personal Water Craft inside the island is an offence against the Crouch Harbour Byelaws.

Apart from being unlawful, all of fast vessels and waterskiing inside the island is particularly hazardous due to underwater obstructions and irregular depths.

Dated 22nd February 2007:

FOR INFORMATION: Mariners are advised that the Harbour Authority have prevailed upon DEFRA to mark more clearly the breaches in the seawall associated with the Wetlands project on the south side of the River Crouch, extending between the River Roach and Burnham. These breaches are to be marked with two (2) Port Hand beacons per breach in order that Mariners cannot unknowingly sail into the Wetltands, where numerous underwater obstructions, which could seriously damage or sink any vessel navigating within this area, proliferate.

Dated: 21st August 2006:

HAZARDS TO NAVIGATION WITHIN THE WETLANDS AND THE ASSOCIATED BREACHES INTO THE WETLANDS

Mariners are warned that standing into or sailing through the breaches in the seawall could be dangerous as there are numerous underwater obstructions in the breaches of the wetlands themselves.
